Anonymous Usage Analytics

When you plan a trip, the app sends a single anonymous event to our server. This event contains no personally identifiable information — no name, no account, no device identifier, no location data. We use the originating IP address solely to determine country of origin, and the IP address is immediately discarded and never stored. This aggregate data helps us understand how the app is used and improve future features.

Third-Party Services

FarthestFuel uses the following third-party services:

1. Apple MapKit

  • Used for maps, routing, and directions
  • Subject to Apple's privacy policy

2. OpenStreetMap (via Overpass API)

  • Used to find gas station locations
  • We send geographic coordinates to find nearby stations
  • No personal information is transmitted

Location Data

FarthestFuel requests location access to:

  • Show your current position on the map
  • Calculate routes from your location
  • Find gas stations along your route

Location data is used in real-time and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

Data Security

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features, including encryption and your passcode/biometric locks.
